The General introduces our home between gatherings—and a few plans for its future.
Read the welcome
Gentlemen, welcome to the Tavern! General Wolfe, at your service. They tell me this is a portal. In my day, we called it a door.
The Tavern is taking shape as our home between gatherings, built around camaraderie, charity, and meeting as equals. Here is what we are planning.
Member profiles and a directory, a shared calendar, replies to invitations, and opportunities to host a gathering or lend a hand.
There will be event comments, Club Room conversations, and shared photographs. Do choose a good profile picture. Mine required a painter and a great deal of patience.
We also hope to recognise volunteering and hosting, with leaderboards and milestones that could earn a drink on the club. A splendid reward for good deeds. I shall supervise the toasts.
There are plans for a club shop, a simple way to recommend a friend, and a choice of modern or historic surroundings. Naturally, I favour the historic.
And I shall drop in with club news, personal greetings, a little history, and the occasional quiz. The jokes are complimentary. Complaints may be submitted by carrier pigeon.
Above all, this is a place to keep the conversation going and do more good together. Help us shape it, and keep showing up for one another.
Now, raise your glass. To good company, generous hearts, and the adventures ahead. Long live the Wolfe Club. Huzzah!
